Features

Only what you need, nothing you don't

Built for people who care about their audio quality — whether it's a podcast, a movie, or a YouTube video with a bad mix.

🎚

8-Band Parametric EQ

Full-range control from 32 Hz to 8 kHz. Each band adjustable ±12 dB with precise per-slider control. Flat by default — only shape what needs shaping.

🎙

Voice Enhancer

Four curated presets — Off, Dialogue, Leveler, and Clarity — each tuned for a different listening scenario. Leveler includes a dynamics compressor ( DSP ).

📊

Live FFT Visualizer

Real-time spectrum display driven by the post-processing audio signal, so you see exactly what you're hearing after the EQ curve is applied.

🔒

100% Local Processing

All audio processing happens inside your browser using the Web Audio API. No audio data ever leaves your device. No servers, no accounts, no tracking.

💾

Persistent Settings

Your EQ curve, knob positions, and Voice Enhancer mode are saved automatically. Open the extension a week later and your settings are exactly where you left them.

Low-Latency Routing

Tab capture runs in an offscreen document separate from your page, so the extension never touches the page DOM and doesn't slow down the site you're on.

Four modes for every source

Pre-tuned curves that fix common audio problems in one click. Switch modes without stopping playback.

Off

Bypass

Voice Enhancer inactive. Your manual EQ curve and gain settings still apply. Use this when you want full manual control.

Dialogue

Speech clarity

Cuts low mud, boosts upper-mid presence. Designed for podcasts and videos where voice sits too far back in the mix.

Leveler

Speech Leveler

Adds a dynamics compressor to even out loud and quiet passages. Ideal for content with inconsistent levels, like live recordings.

Clarity

Air & Detail

Progressive high-frequency lift that opens up the sound. Works well on compressed streaming audio that sounds dull or closed-in.

How it works

Start in three steps

1

Install the extension

Load FreqWave EQ from the Chrome Web Store or install it unpacked in Developer mode via chrome://extensions.

2

Open the popup on any tab

Click the FreqWave EQ icon while on a tab playing audio — YouTube, Spotify, a podcast site, anything. Hit the Engine pill to start capture.

3

Shape your sound

Adjust the 8-band EQ, tweak Master Volume and Pre-Amp, and pick a Voice Enhancer mode. Changes apply in real time with no buffering or interruption.

🛡️

Your audio stays yours

FreqWave EQ processes everything locally using the Web Audio API. No audio is recorded, no data is sent to any server, and there are no accounts or logins. Settings are stored on your device via Chrome's built-in sync storage.
